Far-off osprey
Not good shots, but better than nothing. This guy was swooping down around the far shore

Quiet, peaceful evening on the lake
The osprey heading west, feastless ~
"I see you!"
Reflections
Love the wavy reflection
Visitors from Altoona, Pa., out for an evening cruise
Look at the colour variations on his head ~ spectacular, for a non-breeding-mode drake!
Coming right at me ~
Quack Quack! It's about time you got here!
Heading off into the sunset
What a difference when they move out of the shadows ~

Cruising the Rideau

Our days are numbered for taking the boat out this season; today we went out after the rain for a short jaunt. Our highlight was spotting an osprey landing on a natural nest (as opposed to a man-made nesting box) coming out of Lost Lake. Not too shabby either were the loon shots I was able to get with the zoom lens. The children on the lake made for some cute shots as well.
